The Vulnerable People Project Condemns the Joe Biden Administration for Ignoring the Genocide of the Uyghurs
As Chinese President XI Jinping and U.S. President Joe Biden meet at APEC, VPP cites a failed opportunity to address crimes against the Uyghurs
WASHINGTON D.C. - NOVEMBER 21, 2023. Jason Jones, founder and president of The Vulnerable People Project condemns the Biden Administration for its consistent denial of the ongoing systematic genocide of the Uyghurs, a catastrophic humanitarian crisis in what’s been characterized as the greatest genocide since the Jewish Holocaust. Recently, United States President Joe Biden met with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the 30th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in San Francisco. There was no mention of the crimes against the Uyghurs at the APEC summit.
“It was a failed opportunity on the part of our U.S. President,” said Jason Jones, founder and president of The Vulnerable People Project. “To celebrate the economy, and so-called stability among our nations but to completely ignore and omit the genocide of the Uyghur population is incomprehe“It is one of the greatest honors of my life to be the first recipient of the East Turkistan Order of Friendship Medal,” said Jason Jones. “Our mission is to defend the vulnerable from violence by promoting human dignity and inspiring solidarity. We don’t do the work for awards, but it is our hope that this recognition will garner more visibility for the Uyghur who are utterly defenseless against the CCP and currently barred from freely practicing religion and have been rounded up in concentration camps. The CCP has created an arbitrary detention system where there are an estimated three million plus who are imprisoned, sterilized, placed under surveillance and ultimately obliterated. The humanitarian crisis of these people necessitates we lend them our voice to demand urgent action to liberate these men and women. This award is a mere recognition of the crisis and acknowledgement that our work is making a difference to expose these injustices and create wider international interest and spotlight for the Uyghurs. VPP will not stop until we see dignity and life for these men and women. I urge Americans to pray for the Uyghurs.”
